Phil Baroni (13-11) returns to the UFC on Saturday night after an absence of almost six years, putting his experience and hell-of-leather style against Amir Sadollah (2-1) at UFC 106.
The 33-year-old Baroni made his UFC debut at UFC 30 in February 2001 and won three of his first four fights in the Octagon, including a highlight-reel knockout of Dave Menne at UFC 39 that showcased almost cartoon-like hand speed.
He lost his next four — against Matt Lindland (who had beaten him previously), Evan Tanner (twice) and Pete Sell — before exiting the organization after UFC 51 in February 2005.

A mutual friend got Ortiz and White together the week of UFC 100 in July.
"Time cures pain," Ortiz said.
"It started to get better and better and better and better and then we started talking. It took me a lot to suck it up. I had to suck up a little bit of pride to talk to Dana. And I think Dana had to suck up a lot of pride to talk to me, too. We're two pitbulls, man. You put two pitbulls in a room who are males and they're going to scrap, and that's just the way it is.

A former Marine was charged Friday with six counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of four people whose bodies were found in a burning home, including a prostitute featured on the HBO reality series "Cathouse."
David Allen Tyner, 28, of Locust Grove, is accused of shooting, stabbing and then burning the bodies of Brooke Phillips, Milagrous Barrera, Jennifer Ermey, 25, and Mark Barrientos, 32, at a southwest Oklahoma City home.
Because Phillips and Barrera, both 22, were pregnant, two more murder counts were filed.

Apparently, no one told Sonia Sotomayor that Supreme Court justices are supposed to be circumspect, emerging from their marble palace mainly to dispense legal wisdom to law schools, judges' conferences and lawyers' meetings.
Since becoming the first Hispanic justice, Sotomayor has mamboed with movie stars, exchanged smooches with musicians at the White House and thrown out the first pitch for her beloved New York Yankees.
A famous jazz composer even wrote a song about her: "Wise Latina Woman."
Many, many, many more Americans can name the Seven Dwarfs than they can the people on the Supreme Court -Bob Thompson
